Finger painting fun

We received this Faber Castel finger painting kit from a friend as a gift. It is easy to use and a great way to introduce young children to painting, and less messy too.

Though we have not bought any painting materials for Kah Yen yet, painting is not new to her because she has drawing and painting activities in school everyday. Hence, it was easy to get Kah Yen to paint this lion picture (on the right) together with Daddy, on the left is the sample picture.

Then Daddy went to make a simple card using A4 paper and step by step taught Kah Yen to paint the various subjects on the card with different colors.

Here is Kah Yen proudly presents the completed card. We had enjoyed the activity together and will definitely do more in the future.

Good Morning, Monday

For young children, every day is new day of fun, of playing, of discovery and of adventure. Monday blues? That is a totally alien term to them.

What a happy Kah Yen this morning! Just because she is wearing a new pair of shoes to school.

I was not there to share this moment but the photo from Daddy really lightened up my day.

The Land of OZ - the Flower Dome

It's been a long time since I posted anything here. The reasons are nothing out of the ordinary - Moving house, adapting to a new routine, re-organization at workplace. I was just too busy and too tired to sit down and write.

But I will still try my best to keep this blog going, I was often reminded of the purpose of me starting this blog - to record down the growing years of Kah Yen, the simple moments of joy and laughter that we share - time will soon pass and I would miss those moments. This blog will help me remember.

Anyways. We brought Kah Yen out two weeks back after a longest time. We visited the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay. We are wowed by it immediately. For a moment we felt we have entered the Land of OZ, if you have watched the movie "The Wizard of OZ" recently.

Love the little barn setup with bears and hens and easter eggs. They make the garden appeal to little children too.

Which little girl does not like pretty flowers? See the smile on her face.

This is a cactus inside the African garden. This first caught the eye of Kah Yen and guess what she called it? - Mickey Mouse! I absolutely love the imagination of little children.

ALL THIS TIME

Sandi Patty's "A Mother's Prayer" has accompanied me through my entire pregnancy three years ago. Until now, my child is already more than 2-year old. I still listen to the same songs. Every line she sings, is exactly the same word I want to say to my child, the same prayer I have in my heart, and the same praise I want to give to God.

Just this morning, All THIS TIME, has nearly brought tears to my eyes again.

Here in my arms
I can feel the breath of love surround you
A life so pure
Eyes so blue

How you will grow
And a million dreams will dance around you
Over the stars, past the moon
One day I will tell you

Remembering the years
All this time
Moving through the pages of life
You have been a joy to me
Blooming in the sun and the rain

Holding you through laughter and pain
As you dance I delight
I have loved you all this time

I am amazed
In the morning light of God's creation
He reached from Heaven to me

Sweet miracle
That He placed the flame of life inside
And carried an angel to me
Gave my soul a melody

All this time, all my life
